- The Oatlands Park Hotel
The Broadwater Restaurant project was a full refurbishment of a very large and prestigious hotel restaurant. The Oatlands Park Hotel is a
144 bedroom hotel that caters to many types of guest including corporate functions and weddings. This meant that, early on in the brief, we realised that we had a very difficult task of creating a space that could be “all things to all men”. The room had to be accessible and personable to individual guests, whilst also capable of functioning as a wedding venue, and an ideal place to host corporate functions. Coupled to this was the fact that the building is Grade II listed and that they wanted to introduce a new bar area to the room.
On the project we placed a lot of value on consulting with the people who make the hotel work – not only the management team, but also housekeeping, maintenance, catering, and all the other people that have valuable insight into what is really needed to make the restaurant function.
Following our process, we produced scheme boards, photo realistic renderings, construction drawings, fully itemised specifications, and costings for the project. As with all our clients, we worked WITH the hotel towards what they needed. We are pleased to say that the project was completed on time and in budget and has been received extremely well.
We designed, procured, and installed everything in the room, from the custom textured hexagonal walnut Maitre D’ area, to the up-lit fretwork, the lighting, the bar, the tables, the chairs, the pelmets, curtains, and carpet. We even designed and commissioned the custom artwork hanging on the walls to fit the surroundings and the brief.
